WELCOME TO HOPE

Hope Community Church is a reformed charismatic church plant in the Canterbury area of East Kent. What’s a church plant I hear you cry? Well it’s basically a group of Christians gathering together with the intention of developing a new local church.

As a church plant, we’re excited about how knowing Jesus has changed our lives and truly shown us hope in life and can bring hope to the places we live.

That’s why we chose the name Hope Community Church. We believe that everyone who believes in Jesus has this hope – hope for a glorious life after death but also hope in their lives right now on earth. Lives that are transformed day by day as we follow him into this great hope.

We also believe that God doesn’t just give us this hope as individuals but he expresses it through life together as his people and from us to those we meet.

That’s where the community part comes in – we like to use the phrase “In community for the community”. Jesus has made his people like a big family who support and care for one another but he doesn’t want us to simply live in some isolated church huddle, he wants our love for him and for one another to overflow to our local community, to love like Jesus does. Sometimes this means being very practical – helping people with DIY and other tasks they can’t manage themselves. Other times this means praying for them because we believe Jesus can heal bodies and lives.

So whether you call yourself a Christian or not, we would love to welcome you to our fledgling church. We’re very much in the early days but are excited to see where God leads us as we look to see how we can be a blessing in Jesus name to our community.
